At the heart of the exhibition is the newly designed Wings Cabinet—a sculptural furniture piece that opens outward to reveal its contents like unfolding wings. Both functional and theatrical, the cabinet invites a moment of discovery, transforming
from a closed, quiet object into a stage for a collection of Studiomama works.
Housed within the cabinet are the studio’s Nose Hooks, a series that combines utility with subtle humour. These objects,
at once familiar and playful, reflect Studiomama’s ongoing interest in imbuing everyday items with character and narrative.
Accompanying the cabinet is a selection from the Face Castings series, which embodies the studio’s ongoing investigation into perception and abstraction. Emerging from "unconscious drawings" made between projects, these sculptural forms reflect the spirit of Bruno Munari’s Look into My Eyes, an exploration of seeing through another’s perspective.
Extending this exploration, the exhibition also introduces a new body of work: a series of small shelves crafted from offcuts. These Face Shelves echo the forms and expressions of the castings, translating them into functional objects. Playful and resourceful, they reflect the studio’s commitment to material sensitivity and inventive reuse.
The exhibition will also feature Studiomama’s Lovelines sculptures and Other Half Jewellery, further expanding the studio’s exploration of relationships, form, and emotional connection through objects at an intimate scale.
