Seoul Windows is a photographic project by Michele Foti that portrays the capital of South Korea ( between 2017 and 2024 ) through the windows of its buildings – whether residential towers, shopping malls, offices, or those on the verge of demolition. The images result from a choreographed movement around the window frame, chosen as a device for viewing. The photographic sequence unfolds like a video montage, where quick accelerations alternate with long pauses. At times, the perspective draws closer to the window, at other times it pulls away, and occasionally, the window is opened: and there it is – Seoul.
